Free Throw Participants |
Al Henschmann wants to extend a giant THANK YOU to all the volunteers who took their time to make this a great event.
What a team effort !!
On December 9, the annual Free Throw Contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus was held with thirty enthusiastic kids representing 4 boys age groups and 4 girls age groups. They were registered flawlessly by the sign-in crew. Eight age group champions were crowned after diligent monitoring of all free throws shot by all 30 contestants concurrently shooting at 6 different baskets. Most of the volunteers spent time accurately tallying and recording each and every shot made and missed. The hard-working desk crew of Tony Cifelli and Jen Rivera hectically, yet accurately, reviewed all scoring sheets identifying the contest results. At the conclusion of the event, 8 age group winners were each presented with their well-earned engraved Championship Plaque along with a Championship Certificate, and all contestants received a Participation Certificate.
Additionally, based on the highest number of free throws made by all of the boys, and that of all of the girls across all age groups, a boy's overall champion, and a girl's overall champion was determined. Note that the boys' overall champion went to a double-overtime shoot-off between the 12-year-old champ and the 14-year-old champ with the 12-year-old winning the overall honor. The girls' overall champion and the boys overall champion were each awarded a Family-4-Pack of tickets to a 2022 Arkansas Travelers baseball home game. These awards were generously donated by the management of the Arkansas Travelers Baseball Organization. A big thanks to them!
It was obvious that all the kids had a really fun event!
In conclusion, a special thanks to the 16 volunteers that showed up to help with this event, which without you, would not have been possible. YOU GUYS (and LADY) WERE AWESOME !!!
Thanks again.

On Thursday, the 18th of November, the Knights of Columbus sponsored the Silver Rose Program honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe as the patroness of the Americas and affirming our dedication to the sanctity of all human life. Eight Silver Roses are carried by Knights from city to city, district to district, and council to council from Canada to arrive at the Basilica in Mexico City on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Players thoroughly enjoyed the competition as well as the games on the course. 1st. Place in the 1st Flight was won by the team of Don Levac, Rob Levac, Bob Pinson, Jimmy Sears. The 2nd Flight was won by Scott Krantz, Ed Miller, Tom Conrad and Dan Murphy. Winners of the 3rd. Flight were John Hoefl, Dodson Christian, Mike Long, Chuck Jordon. Closest to the pins were won by Tom Conrad, Lee Parnell and Daniel Warren with Andrea Warren winning the closest to the line drive. Upon completion of play the golfers enjoyed a wonderful catered barbeque lunch provided by Corky’s BBQ.
The Knights of Columbus would like to thank all the golfers, volunteers and especially the generous sponsors listed below for the enormous success of the tournament.
