Rick Hiemenz is August’s Knight of the Month and is being specifically recognized for his meal planning and kitchen leadership relative to the August 4, 2011 special evening with the seminarians. While there was concern that we would not break even with so many non-paying guests and prospective members, the Council actually realized an $800 profit due largely to the prudent planning and food purchases by Rick.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Rick has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He was employed with the Army and Air Force Exchange service for 28 years having lived in 4 different countries and 4 different states before retiring in 1996 while living in Dallas and moved to the Village later that year.

Rick has been a Knight for over 32 years and transferred his membership to Sacred Heart and this Council soon after his arrival in the Village. He is also a member of the Men’s Club of Sacred Heart.

Over the last 14 years, Rick has assumed responsibility for insuring that kitchen crews are available for serving a growing number of meals for regular monthly meetings, breakfast fundraisers, Fish Bake, Chicken Bake, Mardi Gras Fall Festival and other miscellaneous events, the most recent being the August 4th meeting meal honoring all the seminarians.

Thanks, Rick, for your continued dedication in serving this Council and Parish.

Mac Good has lived in HSV since 1977 and  is a charter member of Sacred Heart of Jesus.  He is the one and only original server before the church was built and helped with serving for many years.  He was a member of the original building committee, remodeled the lower hall, and built the rectory.  Mac has been a knight for 4 years and is now a 4th degree knight.  He is being recognized as knight of the month primarily for his service as the Family Director for the last three years.  In that capacity he organized the Council's spring picnic for the last 3 years and also set up the dinner arrangements for the Corportae Communion and the Memorial Mass and Banquet for deceased knights for the last 2 years.
