WHEREAS:   Council 13829 of the Knights of Columbus desires to have one of its own elected to the position of State Treasurer and,

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell has served his council as a Charter Member, Deputy Grand Knightfor 2 years, ascended to Grand Knight to fill the remaining 6 months of the Past Grand Knights term. Then re-elected to serve a new term as Grand Knight for another year.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell has served as Catechist and a First Communion Instructor at St. Mary's Parish in Siloam Springs. Brother Mike J. Mitchell is currently serving as Eucharistic Minister.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell has served as District Warden District 6 during 2007/2008.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell has served as District Deputy in District 6 during 2008/2009.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell is currently serving the Arkansas State council as State Chairman of The Father McGivney Guild.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell was actively involved as District Deputy in the formation and Chartering of Council 14609 as the first Chartered Spanish Speaking Council in Arkansas located in the City of Rogers. This council went on to win STAR council their first year.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell received the honors of District Deputy of the Year in 2009.

WHEREAS:   Brother Mike J. Mitchell is currently serving the Arkansas State Council as State Advocate.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:   That the name of Brother Mike J. Mitchell is entered into the running for the position of State Treasurer.
