His nearly 30-year career culminated after he commanded over 5,000 Marines during combat operations during Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. He has a Doctoral Degree from the University of St. Thomas, an M.A. in Political Science, an M.S. in Computer Science, and a B.S. is Econometrics. Tom and Evelyn shall celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in November.

His involvement within the church includes: Actively participating in myriad events for the past 16 years. In January of this year Tom assumed the duties as Community Director for 22 Council Projects. He contributes to the “Jackson House Food Program,” actively supports “Pennies from Heaven”,” Rice Bowl,” “Coats for Kids,” and the “Baby Bottle” collections. Carmel about three times weekly, and did the same at Good Sam’s for over ten years.

His involvement within the community: His first major Council Project collected over $5,000 for the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. A member of the Good Sam’s Advisory Board for four years, Tom also chaired that board for another two years—emphasizing the need to provide for community transportation, community day care availability, and rehabilitation facilities within the Village. He sponsored a Woodland Auditorium Bluegrass Concert that raised over $25,000 to build the nondenominational chapel at Good Sam’s. He helped raise funds for Good Sam’s Day Care Facility, Simply Kids. A member of the “Disaster Relief Team,” Tom assisted with the tornado cleanup in Peron last fall. For the past two years Tom has organized the dinners for our homeless veterans at St. Francis’ House in Little Rock and helped with and participated in their socials.
