The State Convention at The Arlington Hotel

What started out as a disappointing weekend, with the State Convention Golf Tournament, hosted by Hot Springs Village, being rained out, turned out to be a very successful weekend for Council 10208.  With fellow Brother Knights and wives from every corner of our great state looking on, Council 10208 garnered recognition with 3 coveted Council Awards, and a very special individual accomplishment.

Worthy Grand Knight Gary Wolfer was on hand to receive awards, on behalf of the Council, for Council Activity, Church Activity, and the CPID program.  There was a special gasp when it was revealed that Council 10208 averaged $135 per man for the CPID program.  Quite astounding, considering the second closest was less than half of that.

Dub and Gerri Green were on hand as they were presented a special achievement award for their many years of work with the Arkansas Special Olympics.  Of special note was when worthy State Deputy Adrian Dominguez read a letter from the CEO of Special Olympics saying "the games would not be where they are now without the support and hard work of Dub and Gerri".  Very high praise, but I think we can all agree much deserving.

The wonderful weekend concluded with a special Mass honoring all of our deceased Brother Knights, with all of their names being read by their Councils Grand Knights, or District Deputies.
