Each January every Knights of Columbus Council submits a Fraternal Activity Report to the Supreme Council in New Haven CT.  These data reflect activity in a calendar year and are used primarily for national and international publicity.  In 2011, for example, 1.8 million knights reported over 70 million charitable volunteer hours of community and related service along with 413,000 blood donations.

For 2011, Council 10208 knights reported the following charitable hours to Supreme with only 111 members (36%) responding:  Church-7,306; Community-10,448; Youth-879; Habitat for Humanity -1,846; Miscellaneous-2,160; and, Service to sick/disabled-932. They also reported 3,424 visits to the sick and 354 bereavement visits.  At least 70 knights gave blood one or more times.

Report all of your charitable volunteer hours, including those of your spouse when she works with you on a project.  This reporting is not affected by any other volunteer activity forms you may have submitted to the local council, assembly, or the state council.  This information is cumulative and is being reported to a separate entity – the Supreme Council.

However, do not report time spent at, or preparing for, council and assembly meetings and dinners,  and exemplifications; but time spent on breakfasts for parishioners do count

Assembly Members
By checking the 4th Degree box, assembly members can identify patriotic volunteer activities including: performing civic duties at the village, city, county, or state level; honoring the flag; assisting veterans, and placing the flags at Sacred Heart etc. in the Community category.  The hours for Honor Guard activities would typically be either Church or Community.
